Description
New SeaStar (Teleflex Marine) “The Rack” rack & pinion mechanical steering system. Part number SS14118. Includes cable, helm, and bezel to fully replace an existing steering system or as part of a new installation. Features a 4.0-turn lock-to-lock helm and a common 3/4″ tapered keyed steering shaft for wheels up to 16″. Suitable for most outboards up to 75 HP that have a tilt tube and link arm. For new installations, please double-check that the rack will fit inside your dash (behind your steering wheel). The product photos contains dimensions.
Cable Length (Important!)This system comes with a 18 foot cable (SS14118). Read the measuring guide in the product photos thoroughly to make sure it is what you need. The 18ft is measured from the center of the rack (where gear is visible) to the end of the stainless shaft that connects to the link arm. If measuring an existing cable and you only measure the cable jacket, it will be too short!
